Gait Analysis

Walking is an activity which strongly influences your wellbeing.

It allows you to accomplish many daily tasks, attend work and social functions and it is essential to your physical and emotional health. It is therefore important to preserve the efficiency of your walking style. Your stride, foot strike, knee action, hip mobility, trunk stability, arm swing and head position all interact to create a walking style. Poor movement patterning, weakness and tightness while walking can contribute to the breakdown of many areas of your body.

Therefore, while you many be seeking help through physiotherapy for your low back pain, knee pain, neck pain etc., we at St. Vital Physiotherapy will analyze your gait to see if your approach to walking is indeed contributing to your aches and pains. Corrective advice and exercises will be given to address deficiencies.
