Acupuncture has been proven to be a safe, effective way to treat a wide variety of painful conditions.

Six American associations have published an important paper, reviewing the evidence on the effectiveness of acupuncture. The research shows acupuncture as a powerful treatment modality for the effective management of pain. The paper also points to acupuncture’s ease and cost-effectiveness as a treatment option.

The strongest evidence for acupuncture effectiveness is in the treatment of back pain, neck pain, shoulder pain, chronic headache, and osteoarthritis, the same conditions we treat on a daily basis as Physiotherapists. It can also be used to successfully address lateral elbow pain, sciatica, heel pain, with whiplash injuries, shoulder impingement, jaw pain and more.
